1. Every time you do a short girl post I am THE MOST GRATEFUL. Representation!!!! I feel like I can't make a big skirt work without a high waist and I WILL NOT STOP (despite trends or my short torso)
2. I am in the midst of learning to sew, and one of the reasons is how excited I am to make my own maxi and midi skirts, basically my favorite item(s) to create any outfit from.
Secondly, deeply cool you’re learning to make your own fits, #goals. I have a new sewing machine and now I just need the will and the time to sit down and get to it.
My first victim is a final sale Cos dress — currently the pockets are closer to my knees than hips, short torso issue!
Imo there's nothing wrong with a maxi skirt on a short body as long as the proportions are in check! I definitely agree with a high waist and love how you have balanced all the tops here
Thank you, Carolina, hahah, oops, Nicole! I'm a mess, amiga, sorry for my email. But seriously now, this is great, because I always struggle with long skirts. I only have a few but never wear them much because they feel off. These tips are great! I'll be taking notes!

OMG the low pockets are always so funny because I will insist on still trying to use them? And it’s… awkward.
To say the least!
I need to research and figure out the best way to shorten the torso and bring up the pockets.
Can’t share pics here but hoping bc it’s a black maxi it’ll be somewhat simple 🤷🏾♀️
This feels so doable but I am determined to make a few garments first before I start messing with things I already own!
A smart approach!
Maybe jenknowsbest? Thankful for your help for the littlesss 💯🤗🫶

Ahh thanks Maria, love this take.
Maxi ✅ proportions ✅!
Love this and as a short girl, agree 100%. The length is critical!
Right! It’s almost counter intuitive, the longer the better?
I love this deep dive!! Such great styling and a skirt is always my go to in the summer months when it’s so hot out!
Yess. Did I miss anything, what’s your go to styling for maxis?

Yes that’s exactly how I felt! And zero worries love 😘
Was it Asta from fithappens?
I’m sure she’s spoken to it, but it wasn’t her this time. I think it was a Kelly… not midimalist but another publication. I will do some digging!
There are so many people with such insightful commentary, it’s sometimes hard to keep track! Enjoyed the breakdown in this post; thank you!!
Found it!! Floaty vs weighty sandals https://shophardwarehouse.substack.com/p/for-walking-in-the-sun?r=h606v&utm_medium=ios
